Your status report
Saved weeks
Save each week's report to keep a running history (the last 12 weeks). Next week, start from this one so planned work, open risks, and milestones carry over.
Tips for a status report people read
- Lead with the ask. If you need a decision or help, put it near the top and say who you need it from and by when. That's the part most readers act on.
- Amber is not failure. Amber means "there's a problem and here's the plan." Reporting it early gives people time to help. Green-until-it's-suddenly-Red erodes trust.
- Trends over details. "Better than last week" or "worse than last week" tells readers more than a long task list. Keep the detail for the people doing the work.
- One line per item. If an accomplishment or risk needs a paragraph, it probably needs a conversation instead.
- Same format every week. Readers learn where to look. Saving each week here makes it easy to start the next one.
The Affinity PM Lite pull uses the same health rules as that tool: any overdue task makes the project Red; a task due within 7 days, or one with no update in over 30 days, makes it Amber. Treat it as a starting point and adjust with your own judgment.
